Questions, problems, ideas?

Email us at marius@nocaps.ventures — a person reads every email, usually within a day or two. The address is in the app too, at the bottom of the Account screen.

Common questions

The sign-in code does not arrive.

It comes from 42degrees within a minute. Check your spam or junk folder, and that the address is spelled right. You can ask for a new code after 60 seconds. Still nothing? Email us from that address.

How do I get someone onto my wall?

On the walls list, open the menu (•••) on your wall and choose Share wall . Tap Create a code and you get an 8-letter code; read it out, or use the share button to send it. The other person taps Join a wall (the person icon with a plus) and types it in. Codes last 30 days; the Codes tab lists the ones that still work, with a Stop button, and the Climbers tab is who is on the wall.

Can the people I share with change my boulders?

Only if you let them. Share as set and climb and they can set boulders of their own; share as climb only and they can log sends but not set. Nobody but you can change the wall itself, and each boulder can only be changed by whoever set it and by you.

How do I remove someone from my wall?

Share wall, then the menu next to their name, then Remove from wall . Their sends and boulders stay on the wall.

I got a new phone. Are my walls gone?

No. Sign in with the same email address and everything comes back from your account, photos included.

Does it work without signal?

Yes. Everything is kept on your phone and backs up when you are online again. The cloud icon shows how many changes are still waiting.

What does "Climbers say 6B+" mean?

When you log a send you can say what grade it felt like. The setter's grade stays as it is; next to it you see the average of what everyone who sent it thought.

Can I save a boulder I have not finished setting?

Yes. Leave the setting screen and choose Keep draft , or use the menu (⋮) there and Save as draft . Drafts sit at the top of the wall's list, labelled, and only you can see them until you tap Publish .

What is the bookmark on a boulder?

It marks the boulder as one of your projects: boulders you are working on. The Drafts and My projects chips above the list filter to them, and logging a send takes a boulder off your projects.

Can I send a boulder to a friend who does not have the app?

On the boulder, tap the share icon. The app makes a picture of the wall with the holds circled, plus the name and grade, and hands it to your phone's share sheet.

I deleted something by mistake.

Every delete offers Undo for a few seconds in the message at the bottom of the screen. After that it is gone, and a deleted wall or boulder cannot be brought back.

How do I change my username?

Tap the person icon, then Change username . Usernames are unique, 3 to 20 letters, numbers, _ or .

How do I delete my account?

See Delete your account below. It works from the app, or by email if you no longer have it.

What does it cost?

Nothing, for home walls: any number of walls, and sharing them with up to 20 climbers. The people you share with never pay, and this does not change. A gym or a club with more climbers than that will get its own plan.

Later there will be a paid Pro version: your statistics, which holds no boulder uses, and holds circled automatically from the wall photo. Everyone using 42degrees before Pro arrives gets six months of it free — email us and we will put you on the list.

Something on a shared wall is not OK.

On the wall's menu, choose Report a problem , or email us. You can also leave the wall at any time.

Delete your account

In the app: tap the person icon, then Delete account .

Without the app: email marius@nocaps.ventures from the address you sign in with, asking us to delete your 42degrees account. We delete it within a few days, and at the latest within a month, and reply when it is done. We only act on a request from the account's own address, so nobody can delete someone else's account.

What is deleted, either way: your account, your walls and everything on them (photos, boulders, and everyone's sends on them), and your sends, projects and drafts on other people's walls. It happens on our server straight away, and copies in our provider's backups are overwritten shortly after. This cannot be undone.

What stays: boulders you set on other people's walls stay there for them, without your name, so the sends your friends logged on them are not lost.
